    Today we went off for an inshore tuna trip, our friends at NOAA were a little off, again. We have set some dates in September for open boat tuna trips, check our calendar for the dates.

    On the morning trip we started out fishing in Sandy Hook Bay where we picked some shorts and caught a few keepers. On the afternoon trip we fished in Raritan Bay where we caught some keepers but not much action with the shorts.

    Late entries have been building up the field for the 26th MidAtlantic Tournament all day at the captains meeting. Two anglers caught 7-pound class fluke, and some large sea bass were also boated.

    Had Bill, Jr, Darren, John, with an appearance by Blackfish Bobby, or make that the Tuna Puller!Had a rough ride out, Got to the grounds, and found the life, had to wrestle with Way too many falsies so we went on the chunk, Went to 30lb Leader and Bobby went to work on a nice size yellow but fish chewed the light leader, went back on the troll and couldn't Deal with another bunch of slob sizes falsies so went back to The chunk, missed a bunch of bites, until Bobby came through Again and landed a nice 60lb on 30 flouro!

    Capt. Greg Hueth reported many limits on his Big Mohawk, with a pool fluke at about 10 pounds. Capt. Stan Zagleski had a good fluking report from his Elaine B, II out of Bahrs in Highlands as follows Multiple limits Saturday August 19, 2017 Got back on the fluke grounds after the doom and gloom forecast of yesterday.
