The Golden Eagle from Belmar had non-stop variety action today with sea bass, chub mackerel, ling, fluke and some blues. Wind for a good fluke drift wasn't a problem today, but it was on Thursday when Capt. Stan Zagleski reported as follows from his Elaine B. II from Bahrs in Highlands August 3, 2017 A very nice day on the water but could have used some wind or current this morning.
Had to go into overtime today as we never had a drift until late afternoon. Slugged away on some Sea Bass and a few shorts with the jigging but it was tough to start. A breeze and the change of tide got us moving and finally got the fish active.
